Craving a fresh, vibrant sushi or poke bowl but want to skip the massive carb overload and subsequent afternoon crash? These Steamed Sesame Salmon Bowls deliver all the bright, umami-packed flavors of your favorite Japanese restaurant in a format that is fully optimized for your metabolic health.
Traditional salmon bowls are built on a heavy foundation of sticky white rice that is loaded with sugar. This clever, low-GI remake swaps out the grains for zero-calorie Shirataki rice, seasoning it to perfection with unseasoned rice vinegar and a touch of erythritol. Topped with tender, moist cubes of steamed salmon, a deeply savory dressing of tamari, toasted sesame oil, ginger, and fresh scallions, and a mountain of crunchy green cabbage, cool Persian cucumbers, and creamy avocado, it offers an incredible mix of textures. It’s a fresh, nutrient-dense meal that completely satisfies your sushi cravings while keeping your insulin levels entirely flat.
